Ron Kantrowitz graduated from Kent State University with a B.A. in Studio Art. He started drawing caricatures professionally in 1994 and teamed up with Adam Pate in 1997. Together they started working in the Pittsburgh area and soon built a solid reputation. The two were often seen in Pittsburgh’s most popular nightclubs three to four nights a week. Their hard work paid off and eventually took them all over the east coast from New York to Key West,FL.


In 1998, Ron took a chance and stepped out of his comfort zone. As a result, he was the creator and founder of Mugshotz Art Studio. Shortly after the company’s development, Ron was concentrating full time on his artwork. In 2002, Mugshotz’s celebrated its five year anniversary and MugshotzOnline.com was launched. Ron has spent many years donating his time and artistic talents to several charitable organizations. He has been honored to work at high profile charity events, Pittsburgh Penguin games, and Pittsburgh Pirates games. His talent has led him to major colleges and universities across the United States. He continues to entertain and wow people of all ages in private and public venues.


Ron’s artwork has been published in Humor Outcasts books, The Congressional Daily, The Pittsburgh Post -Gazette, The Jewish Chronicle and in Pop Arts Book Co in London, England. His artwork has been featured on PLB Sports products, including Hall of Fame Steeler Jerome Bettis’ “Bettis HOF Crunch”, Chicago Cub’s “Rizzo’s”, U.S. Women’s Soccer Gold Medalist, Carly Lloyd’s “Carly’s Kickin’ Hot Sauce” , Jordy Nelson’s “Farm Fresh Flakes” C.J Anderson’s “Mile High Crunch” and more coming out in the near future. His work has been seen on many web sites including the Detroit Free Press, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and PittsburghPenguins.com, MarioLemieux.org as well as walls of many restaurants in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.
